Fleet Readiness Training Program
TANK03 and CQ-02 Modules

Welcome to the Virtual Naval Air Training Command (vTRACOM), home to the Primary and Intermediate Flight Training Programs for VUSN Student Naval Aviators or SNA's. The VUSN prides itself on trying to emulate real world naval aviation training, however due to the nature of our online virtual environment several modules have been eliminated  or revised. We do have many real world Naval aviators  within the VUSN who have complimented our staff as to the realism, professionalism and pride we take to not only educate the novice SNA (nugget) on various aspects of naval aviation but also having fun doing it.

There are two purposes of vTRACOM. The first is to indoctrinate, train, and eventually place pilots within the VUSN fleet squadrons. Successful completion of the VUSN Primary and Intermediate Flight training programs  helps to enhance operations and to track pilot progress. This may look or sound difficult, but is actually very easy and, ultimately a lot of fun. Keep in mind that all VUSN pilots are required to participate in the TRACOM Flight Training Programs.. A flowchart of the training program pipeline can be found here.

The second purpose is to help existing fleet squadron pilots in staying current and to introduce new tactics and training guidelines. In addition, the training library contains a lot of information to help ALL pilots to further enjoy their tours in the VUSN.

Your basic training , called PRIMARY will begin with the VT3 Red Knights, located at NAS North Whiting Field , Florida. Then, depending on your training pipeline, you will move to the VT21 Red Hawks, located at NAS Pensacola (Sherman Field), Florida for carrier pipeline training, the VT31 Wise Owls, located at NAS Pensacola, Florida for Multi-Engine (Land/maritime) pipeline, or HT18 Vigilent Eagles, located at NAS South Whiting Field, Florida for helicopter/Rotor training. The FLAG Commanding Officer of training is the Chief of Naval Air Training (vCNATRA),  located at NAS Pensacola Florida and is tasked with overseeing training and tracking SNA's progress through the various pipelines. The TRACOM CO (commanding officer) and XO (executive officer) are tasked with the day to day operations of TRACOM as well as acting as senior Instructor pilots.

Most Primary and Intermediate training modules REQUIRE an online checkride with a qualified TRACOM  Instructor Pilot (IP) or your Future squadrons commanding officers or his designee. The TRACOM Instructor pilots are experienced VUSN aviators, trained to provide the student with a sound foundation in the operation of the different TRACOM aircraft. Instructors undergo a training course similar to the student's, which familiarizes them with curriculum maneuvers and teaches an effective  presentation techniques to standardize training. No two instructors will be identical in their teaching styles and each may vary their presentation to fit the needs of the individual student, however the goal is to provide standardized training to the greatest extent possible.
In order to teach you to fly the VUSN training aircraft properly, the instructor must critique your performance online during a checkride. The instructors feedback and suggestions are intended to improve your understanding and flying techniques. All criticism by instructor pilots will be constructive in character, with the intent to develop a newly qualified virtual naval aviator, ready for fleet deployment.

The primary goals of VUSN are to educate, to provide a realistic simulation of Naval Aviation flying and air traffic control and, most importantly, to provide a fun environment for everyone to enjoy our hobby. The policies and procedures contained within this library support those goals.   These policies apply to the conduct of all members and all activities, whether operated online or offline,  under the jurisdiction of the VUSN.   All VUSN members are required to be familiar with these policies, both operational and administrative, in addition to supplemental policies administered by their future fleet squadrons or commands. The Latest version of the VUSN Manual can be found on the main VUSN web page. Please make sure to read this manual in its entirety so that you are fully aware of any restrictions and can enjoy your experience with the VUSN .

WELCOME ABOARD NUGGET . GOOD LUCK WITH THE TRAINING AS YOU STRIVE TO EARN YOUR COVETED "WINGS OF GOLD"
